Stanford Arizona Cactus Garden - 5/25/20
Went to Stanford University’s Arizona Cactus Garden today. It was an unusually warm (90s) day but the garden’s cacti were putting on a beautiful display of blossoms, which I tried to capture- but the photos don’t quite capture the beauty of the light shining through these delicate and beautiful blossoms. It’s amazing to me that the cacti- with their spikes and generally plain exteriors put on such a beautiful display. I also saw the hummingbirds and a few other birds around the garden. Take a look!
Shoreline Park 5/16/20- Birds
Went for a short walk around the Shoreline Park pond today. There were a ton of people, but not so many birds. Saw a beautiful snowy egret and a forster’s tern.
Palo Alto Baylands- Birds May 2, 2020
Did a little 3 mile walk around Palo Alto Baylands. Saw a lot of birds- including some horny barn swallows, some hummingbirds, a hungry double crested cormorant and a beautiful Bullock’s Oriole.
A walk around Shoreline during the times of Coronavirus
Took the day off work, started with seeing a hummingbird at home getting nectar from the trees near my house, then I went for a 4.5 mile walk around Shoreline Park in Mountain View. Got a few interesting bird pictures- a hawk and crow doing mid-air battle and a hummingbird that gave me a 3 ft closeup! Click an image to make it larger.
